Yuletide at Winterthur and Longwood Gardens

Winterthur Museum and Gardens is the American country estate of Henry Francis du Pont, among the first to appreciate and collect American antiques. Beginning in the 1920s, he became such an avid collector, he expanded the house, originally built in 1839 over and over again just to accommodate his growing collection, until it reached nine stories and 175 rooms. Today, the collection numbers some 85,000 objects. Enjoy a one hour guided tour of the home bedecked in holiday finery, which will include highlights of his exquisite collection, a tram ride of the gardens (weather permitting), and free time to explore the wonderful museum stores.

Then, embark on a magical journey through a Christmas wonderland at Longwood Gardens. Thousands of brilliant poinsettias, dazzling trees and fragrant flowers bloom in the heated Conservatory. Outside, more than 500,000 twinkling lights, strolling carolers and evening performances contribute to this incomparable Christmas display.

Enjoy Longwood Gardens at your own pace, along with a scrumptious meal at the Terrace Cafe*.
